Just read that Chelsea are thinking of recalling bamford from palace due to lack of playing time , what's anyone's thoughts on the Owls making an early move or least an enquiry he can get the goals in the championship and would be another great addition

I doubt we will move for him. We are starting to score goals and the team seems quite settled now. Striker is one of the positions were we have a number of players so we wouldn't be able to guarentee him first team football.

Lens' preparations for their return to Ligue 1 have been hit after being handed a ban on signing new players. The northern club finally had their promotion to the top flight rubber-stamped on appeal after it was initially prevented - despite them finishing second in Ligue 2 last season - for failing to provide sufficient financial guarantees.
Could this affect us In any way possable edd just wanted to ask the question cause it's all leading back to the same financial difficulties.

Swiddoy76

1.) Can any one clarify if RC Lens did receive the money or not.

2.) 06 Aug 2014 16:45:32
The article does not make clear if the 4m euros "owed" by Lens was extra money promised by HM and not delivered - or, if it was inserted by Martel into his submission as a means of getting round the objections of the regulator. Hope it is the latter. Anyway, the French have seemed less than straightforward in their dealings thus far.

3.) 06 Aug 2014 17:57:40
I think this may the French fl getting their own back on Lens following their appeal

4.) Deal for AM is done!

5.) Would be helpful if you would say who AM is!

6.) Starman closest to truth I think, majority of French press comments that can see little justification for ban other than spite and revenge for Lens winning the appeal.
A couple of articles suggesting that Lens have more funds available than half of the other clubs in the league, so hard to believe its related to money.

7.) Alfred mugabo or aaron maclean? (Cant think of any more)

8.) Think he might tell us who AM is in the morning ( pun )! Sorry

9.) Hahahahaha

10.) Got It-

AM - Afore Mentioned, but is that the afore mentioned SM or BM?

Brighton are now in talks with what they say and I agree to be a proven goal scorer at this level and that striker is none other than the man himself Chris ogrady!! I for one stil wonder y he never got his chance with us pretty poor on out part cause after all we are in the market for a proven goal scorer ourselfs now and ogrady would and still could get us them goals :))) what him
Kick on again now if an when he signs for Brighton!! Gud look to him I say always liked the guy.

Swiddoy76

1.) 18 Jul 2014 08:11:50
Never got a chance because he was a Megson boy. I really rated him though!

2.) He's Rubbish and Brighton are definitely wasting there money even if it's a couple of quid!

A really nice guy and a trier but really.

3.) 18 Jul 2014 12:39:03
Totally agree Teat, he was good for league 1 where he got kicked and battered around but just got on with it. If you're going to play him your going to become a long ball team.

4.) Swiddoy76, that was one of many Dave Jones balls up that we should always thank him for!! I don't even give him credit for our promotion. DJ had more use than a chocolate fire gaurd!!

RC Lens - the French club owned by pending Sheffield Wednesday buyer Hafiz Mammadov - has had its promotion to Ligue Un suspended due to discrepancies in its budget for next season.

Lens have been informed by the National Directorate of Management Control (DNCG)- the financial regulation body of French football - that they will not be permitted to enter the top flight due to ‘insufficient financial guarantees. ’

The problem appears to revolve around a figure of ten million euros (around £7. 99m) which has not been transferred into the club’s accounts from major shareholder Mammadov in Arzerbaijan.

Club president Gervais Martel immediately announced an appeal against the decision and insists he is confident the suspension will be lifted.

Martel insists the issue has arisen due to a public holiday in Azerbaijan which caused a delay in the cash transfer and ensured it arrived after the DNCG made their judgement.

He said: “I went to spend a few days in Baku to set this up.

“What I can say today is that it is unfortunate that this decision is made in a matter of a day, on a payment date.

“But one simple reason: yesterday, June 26, it was the feast of the Armed Azerbaijan.

“It was a holiday and sending the funds was tabled on the 25th was not effective on the 26th for this reason, and it has not arrived.

“DNCG applied it’s regulations.

“I have absolutely no worries.

“We will appeal to the DNCG and we will provide all documents at the appropriate time.

“This is unfortunate but it is not very serious. ”

The club have appealed both to the French Football Federation (FFF) and the DNCG over the decision. The appeal is expected to be heard on July 3 or July 9.

Mammadov’s potential takeover of the Owls is currently undergoing the ratification process with the Football League.
This is what it says in the star and they fully explained why the situation has arisen and how it's going to be rectified so nothing at all to worry about.
Onwards and upwards and always look on the bright side a life WAWAW

1.) It's like us having a bank holiday. Surely the new pending owner or who ever deals with his finances must have known that the money would be delayed which would then cause the problem. This all sounds very suspect to me. Maybe the F. A know something too which is why the takeover hasn't been rubber stamped. When else have takeovers of clubs become such a drama? I wouldn't be surprised if it doesn't happen hence why Milan says he's sticking around.

2.) 27 Jun 2014 18:50:33
Know that's a post. hope it don't effect us in any way the got to admit I am a bit nervous know

3.) The ratification proesstakes 3 weeks minimum less than this was hoping, so no delay. Football league ratification can take 3 months. Second postsounds like one of those geezers on herewho want Wednesday to fail.

4.) Just because you don't agree with me why does that mean that I want Wednesday to fail? I've got my own opinions mate which I'm entitled to. No I don't think the takeover will happen but if I'm wrong I doubt any money worth talking about will be made available for so called big signings. I say this through concern and nothing less.

RevOwl

5.) Sounds like a banking error that shouldn't have happened but did and this has been blown out of proportion. It seems like the French FA have been a bit quick on the trigger in applying sanctions and I have the feeling the ban will be overturned and I don't see this effecting our takeover.

6.) I get that the bank holiday thing is an absolutely school boy mistake that no serious business man would allow to happen.

This takeover is far from being a drama (until today though). It happened very quickly after it became public knowledge and the fl signing it off as final hasn't taken that long yet.

I'm still hugely optimistic about the future, but would rather this hadn't happened.

7.) Another shambles, and before I get I smell pork or what ever rubbish, I am a true owl, season ticket for last 6 years and I know this season is going to be another relegation battle end of, odd new signing maybe, and usual loan siginging to save us end of!

8.) How come people are so negative about the takeover. Good things come to people who wait, so the saying says.

9.) 28 Jun 2014 11:00:32
If the first post was that it's just been announced by FIFA, the Queen and News at Ten that the 5 richest people in the world have formed a syndicate to buy Wednesday and turn us into the biggest club in the world. Then the next 5 posts would be we are doomed, relegation next season, no new signings blah blah negative blah. Half of you are so indoctrinated in failure that you would be better off supporting United

10.) We will find out shortly what the real story is but it is no surprise to me that Mr M manages his cashflow tightly by making big payments as late as possible. That is good business practice. It is easy to be righteous about administrative errors but they happen all the time in big business even with the best of intentions and it is easy to see how someone overlooked a mismatch between Azerbaijzan and French banking days. I'm not ready to read anything untoward into this yet although obviously with our history of tricksters and sharks sniffing around the club, it is natural to be on our guard. Keep the faith - next week will reveal the truth!

11.) I think all will be fine with the pending take over, but we need to be patient and realise success maybe a good few seasons away yet. don't be surprised if its another long nail biting season. uto. halifax owl.

Just seen on ssn that Swansea are interested in our main man Carlos Carvalhal this would be a big kick in the balls if he was to leave he's had n Amazin impact at hillsborough with players results n style n fight the players have, I as much as many other owls fan will b gutted if he goes, anyone else opinion or thoughts on this ide like to hear . 💙 WAWAW UTO 💙.

1.) 25 Dec 2015 23:19:19
If it was possible to sit in a room with carvalahal and pled him not to go I'm sure we would all jump at the chance. Wish he knew just how important he is to our progress hope he knows should I say.

2.) 26 Dec 2015 20:26:10
This is a huge jump in opinion in Carvalhal since he joined us. I remember when he was announced that virtually everyone was sceptical and thought a nobody like him would never succeed and we would plummet towards relegation. I'll be honest that while I didn't think we would be near relegation, I didn't think he would do as well as he has with us and would have been replaced by now. Now we are at the point where he has done so well with us Premiership teams are looking at him. I hope that the only Premiership club he looks to be with is us in one to two seasons.

3.) 27 Dec 2015 01:40:42
I doubt that Chansiri would let him leave for another club without a serious battle, especially with his 2 year plan for the club going in exactly the right direction.
CC is doing an amazing job, but I don't think he has proven himself enough to take over at a Premiership club with the main objective being to keep them up.
That's just the way I see it, but I really hope that I'm not wrong because we have waited a long, long time to just get back to this level.

Those new ticket prices are a real joke premiership prices for us to watch our beloved owls in the championship there's gunna be a lot of fans that just cannot afford the price hike me for one last season was costing me at least £70/£80 a game when I took my two kids along its gunna cut out our next generation of fans for the family's that cannot afford it our new chairman needs to review theses prices asap

We should stay well clear there's got to be a better option for the chairman to bring in if he's willing to pay the full wages

More than disappointed at this decision after he saved us from relegation last year he did what was asked and moved us forward like asked by the board got believe back in the team as well as loads a spirit . I think the new owner could have given him at least a chance with new signings and his money then it would have proven what such a good coach an manager he is . IDE like to wish stu Gray all the very best for the future and the brilliant job he did for us . WAWAW .
