Bus is on his bike to some obscure Italian outfit. My guess is we won't see him again.

SCOWL

1.) 02 Feb 2016 17:21:46
We now have 4 good CF's, all with different attributes, so I doubt that Bus will be missed at all.

2.) 03 Feb 2016 10:27:32
Never got a run in the team, he was one of those bought in a rush on deadline day last year when we suddenly had money. He was starting to look good but then got injured and fell a long way down the pecking order with our summer recruits overtaking him. Good luck to him at his new club.

Now the season is underway a word of thanks to contributors and the Ed. It was on this website that I first heard of the potential signing of most of the players who actually joined us. So there's definitely some truth in rumours.
Of course there was some utter crap too.

SCOWL

{Ed001's Note - the idea of the sites is to just gather the rumours and those with info can point out which ones are crap and which have substance. Sadly newspapers and clickwhoring sites abound that just make up a new story each day, so there is a lot more crap than there used to be. And thank you mate.}

Now we have our 9th new signing. any ideas on the starting line-up for Bristol C?
Maybe the Ed should start a sweepstake!

I now read we are exploring the option of bringing Cooper in as a new head coach and appointing Carvalhal as general manager. At this rate we will end up with more managers than players!
So we are on track for a chairman with no footie experience, sporting directors with no pedigree, a general manager with a terrible track record and a coach hot from Div.1.
Anyone feeling nervous?

SCOWL

1.) 19 Jun 2015 12:10:09
Interesting to read some Swindon fans feedback, they appear to be pleased Cooper might go, just as a matter of interest what is Ian Holloway up to at the moment surely he would be a better prospect

2.) 19 Jun 2015 12:13:27
Not feeling nervous , SCOWL , more disappointed.
From a position of strength - SG with some financial clout - we now have more upstairs than perhaps any other club! If Cooper comes on board , where's the pulling power to attract players to the club!
Looks shambolic so far , with more knee jerk reactions yet to come next week.
Looks like some of us may need to come out of retirement and get those old boots cleaned up since , at this rate , we won't be able to field a full team .
Oh Milan , what must you be thinking?

3.) 19 Jun 2015 13:56:08
Sorry but I don't understand this obsession some of our fans have with Holloway?
He's had some success, famously with Blackpool, but don't forget he's had a good few failures along the way as well.
Don't forget how he walked away from Palace because he was feeling the pressure and said he felt powerless to bring about improvements .
Can you imagine how he would feel having to bring very rapid progress to S6?
From where we are now particularly this is a big, big , big job!
I personally feel we will have to make a few managerial changes before we get the right man or men in, because DC doesn't have an insight or deep knowledge of this business, yet.
But Holloway , and just as likely Carlos n Cooper for that matter, are not up to the job IMO.

4.) 19 Jun 2015 15:06:56
Whatever holloway is up to he can stay doing that!

Interesting point; I had loads of respect for MM, he's a proper footballing business man. But, considering he sold us to fraudster from Azerbaijan, then john west hasn't covered himself in glory so far.

So, CC yet to be confirmed anyone think it's because he wants his own assistant?

5.) 19 Jun 2015 16:25:34
Personally Des I don't think that's it, he's been so far away from the coalface for so long now I don't think he would know an assistant! And the only assistant that would help him succeed is his mate Mourinho!
I think this whole mess is all because of whatever happened to push Stuart Gray to the point of walking "out of the building" in a hurry, probably Mr Roeder?
I don't believe this was a planned change of manager at all, so the whole process only started a week ago when Stu had seen and heard enough.
As I said last week , Roeder was adviser to Vincent Tan at Cardiff when they appointed Slade , so we shouldn't be surprised with the candidates we are being linked with - Carlos Who, and an average Lge1 manager who lots of their fans claim won't be missed at all because any success they've enjoyed is down to his assistants and not him?

6.) 19 Jun 2015 18:01:27
Its not an obsession with Holloway, Howler its just there are better managers out there than the 2 we are currently linked to, I would have thought somebody would have been knocking on Chansiri's door. Personally I would rather stick with CC than bring in Cooper. When you look what Bournemouth did on a minimum budget we should be able to get at least as good a manager and get better players on the budget we will have. We keep coming back to Roeder and he is the biggest stumbling block to obtaining a half decent manager, send him back to Tan

OK the season is over and it's time to look forward. Who would you keep and who would you move on?

SCOWL

1.) 17 Apr 2015 18:02:41
Hey scowl, that's exactly what I asked!

High green, think you may have been a bit harsh with the move on in my opinion.

Adding quality rather than wholesale changes. Think three or four first teamers rather than squad additions. Some of the players on your cut list would be good squad players I think.

Be interesting though won't it, great to be in a position where there will be options, rather than knowing it will be free's and loans only.

2.) 17 Apr 2015 20:45:09
I think the biggest question is.
Should May stay or go??

3.) 17 Apr 2015 23:44:01
Without a doubt we need a 'proper' goal threat, but on his development I think he's another player we keep for the squad rather than relyin on him for first team. We paid 800k for him last year, his value has to have gone down?

Ensuring lees, Westwood and loovens for next season is hugely important for me.

Would also like to get mcgougan confirmed too.

4.) 18 Apr 2015 01:39:10
So it's a Stevie Maybe.

5.) 18 Apr 2015 16:02:07
Des, you are right. On second thoughts I was rather harsh in including Dielna and Helan in the move-on list. However,I should have included Coke and Floro. This is a tough division and getting out of it requires not only better players in the first XI -our squad players will need to provide some quality as well when injuries and suspensions inevitably come along.

6.) 19 Apr 2015 12:17:28
Floro been in dev' squad too long and to be fair when I've seen him looked, a bit weak. I also think coke has been around the first team too long. Corry doesn't seem to be getting close and McCabe for that matter too.

McGuire is tricky one, think we can get a better winger for first team definitely and this year he hasn't had same goals either. So think he will probably be on his way?

7.) 20 Apr 2015 14:20:10
Maguire has never appeared to be an out and out winger to me. Maybe others see this differently?
I think he is more suited to filling in the gap between a proper CF and the midfield.

8.) 21 Apr 2015 10:10:22
Chris Maguire has some nice touches, quick feet and wasted as a winger we have only got to find 13 points this season to have been in play offs, home form because of the pitch dire.
We haven't scored many but we haven't conceded many another 15 goals could have given us the 13 points

Out of the loaned players Pudil, Lopez and Hunt should be targets but the others either didn't play or impress enough. Players like Melo and McGugan who aren't first choice should maybe go. Sorry to say but Nuhiu isn't good enough in my opinion. Wallace, whilst I like him, only had a year contract - I think ad Carlos might want a younger option.
WE need at least 1 CB, 2 midfield and a CF.

By my reckoning that's one Scot, one Welsh, one French, one Dutch, one Portuguese and one English and a Spaniard likely to follow. any guesses on the next nationality?

A big name like Guylain Ndumbu-Nsungu for instance?
I just like to see us linked to someone who's name I don't have to google.
