Four Corners Tonight

Tonight from the far corners of the world we will listen and watch as always any hour any day the Wednesday play. From the moment HI HO is up and running the hairs will begin to stand. My son and I are often side by side seated by the laptop sharing the ear pieces clinging to every word. Oh to be there.
The association and passion that we all feel for our great club, far or near, ultimately becomes part of Wednesday history – it’s magnetism, it’s soul.
As supporters we can breathe the magic of a successfull club just driving by, let alone on match a day.
Observing from afar what is and has been happening to our great club is sheer torture for one and all and has understandably recently drawn empathy from respected knowledgeable pundits.
Looking at recent classic media shots of senior club officials at Blackpool conveys the message all too clearly. For the realist the sacking of Jones was inevitable from day one the simple question was how long would he last.
His tenure longer than could initially be contemplated and the damage all the greater. As is now being more widely discussed. As for supporters ultimately the true fear is now more widely being discussed not Jones but Mandaric his ego and method. Make no mistake Jones went because the support are now rightfully questioning the greater picture.
The next manager must now achieve again what was squandered of the ‘ginger ones’ tenure. Now we are in a more competitive league and have a negative base against a backdrop of disposal rather than acquisition. Watching player interviews it is clear they are broken men and performances reflect it – adding further to the problem the new incumbent will face.
Frankly the club does not have time now to engage the unknown but Mandaric will likely do just that for many reasons and justify his decision accordingly.
Sheffield Wednesday should not need to suffer the pains of Portsmouth and particularly Rangers. None the less right now that is a possibility. Team coach Ally McCoist carried Rangers through some dark hours with his passion for the club he had played for, was managing and supported. If things did go wrong for Wednesday we would need ‘a similar soul’. Someone prepared to put the club first without thought of personal gain or loss. Someone we can believe in.
The Mandaric method is not working the club is in a mess and he wants to sell plus the results aren’t coming hence attendance is down and consequently income. Clearly all signals encourage one to believe the money is simply not available. Upfront purchase of ‘season tickets’ being classic litmus. Buyers have apparently evaporated, why? The answer is undoubtedly in the small print.
The supporters, the club, the team, individually players need uplifting urgently. Attendances need to increase irrespective of results and revenue needs preservation. Mandaric will know that all too well just like the supporters do.
The playing squad requires redefinition, inspiration a true leader with ‘blue and white’ blood. A man who does not take no for an answer and the kind of man who when last on the pitch banged his fist against his heart and the badge. A man who can be respected. A man who might not get it all right first time but is committed to the cause. A man who ‘united’ Sheffield Wednesday supporters and players alike. Without doubt a man who with a little more help would have had us on our way to the premiership this year. A man who inadvertently at the same time would have now repaid many-fold much of the faith originally shown in him. Justifying investment and increasing asset accordingly. Ironically (if one believes what one reads) a man who currently remains being paid by the club to no avail.
Milan has this chance to get it right and save the investment. The catalyst is simply to realise the simplicity of what is required and the acceptance that egotism is inappropriate.
At this moment in time the presence of only one man could instantaneously achieve this objective and we have previous knowledge he can deliver. A man who confessed he still wishes to succeed here. Not all will agree but surely agreement that there this is no time to gamble is irrefutable. Everyone associated with the club knows the current situation is pressing. Reinstating the man with Milan affording all possible support he can, being open, honest to the core, setting clear limits, giving no rise to false hope, sharing his problems, allowing ‘ginger’ to deliver, would surely alleviate a majoritive of current malfunction. Surely that would leave Milan resting in the knowledge that the club and the investment are in very safe hands. He could afford double indemnity by appointing Howard as mentor, mediator, confidante and support. Howard is gain tried and tested. Doing so would surely make use of ‘blue and white’ blood to consolidate a great club whilst bringing direction and a more confident future, albeit with minimal risk.
If this scenario does not transcend then failsafe plans may well need to be inaugurated amongst the support for a ‘Swansea intervention’ model. Ten years it took – see where they are now on a fraction of our fanbase.
Supporters will know none of the current contenders in the media mix are Wednesday people or more importantly what is required.
Tonight is the night for supporters of this great club to voice their opinion because by appointing Jones in the face of ‘ginger euphoria’ and subsequently having to dismiss the in todays circumstance’s Milan has now admitted the power. Bums on seats………simple.
The power of the people.
Surely tonight of all nights the team need encouragement and uplifting faith without criticism we need to turn the corner.
Without doubt tonight and our tomorrows we need to be more vocal and viral.
The power of the Sheffield Wednesday people.

1.) Would have been much quicker to simply write bring back megson! However 4corners it ain't going to happen so stop looking back and move on. I liked megson myself and thought it was harsh when he was sacked but it appears he gets better the longer he's not here. NB

2.) Verbal diarrhea or what?
Could have said all that in 2 sentences!

No, my friend, I'm afraid we've gone beyond the " Ginger one ".

After tonight, we can leave " the caretaker " in command, with Bully in support. Another win on Saturday and we will begin to see that our squad is not that bad after all. Simply been lined up as if in a sprint race and not a football match. We have some reasonable "footballers" in the real sense -- ones who can get the ball down and play. Cokey and Palmer showed that tonight against top opposition -- Several others are lurking in the wings!
Sorry to go on -- it seems to be catching!

3.) And of erm of maghoma whilst everyone is on a (well earned rant). I personally think could NOW do well with us.

If the deals 15m that's 10m short of MM claimed investment making allowance for 5m pa losses.

What exactly is he selling? After such a trans action who owns the ground, the training facilities? Your season ticket?

I am sorry but many still need to stand back from the coal face.
Warnock suits Mandaric simply because (if what we hear is correct) he only wants a short term contract!
What happens after that? Sailing into a bigger storm. to develop Sheffield Wednesday need stability. Following the the buy out MM has not offered this and is obviouslyfinancially incapable of delivery. What happened behind the scenes at Ibrox makes painfull reading for all who support football. read on.
